Restoration

Franco de Castilla House | c.XVIII to public notary

The respectful cohabitation between the past and present preserving the quality

The principal objective of the project is to preserve an important eighteenth century construction in a poor state of conservation with extensions of little interest that was damaged by fire in 1965, with the aim of providing work space for a modern Public Notary’s office. The invariant characteristics of the old building are the conceptual base for the integral renovation for the remaining parts, while new construction systems have substituted the ones destroyed before the restoration. The result being a building where restoration and technical modern solutions coexist round a central courtyard providing a relaxing work environment.
