MENCEY STRATEGY AND SITE IMPLEMENTATION

PLANOS Y DETALLES TÉCNICOS

The Hotel as Continuation of Urban Space

The intervention within the grounds of Iberostar Heritage Grand Mencey forms part of a broader operation involving the extension of gardens, the reorganization of access routes and the upgrading of infrastructures linked to the hotel and its relationship with the city.

The project relocates vehicle drop-off towards the edge of the garden, freeing the immediate surroundings of the building and reinforcing the perception of the historic ensemble while extending the continuity of public space.

The replacement of opaque boundaries with glass allows the garden to become visually present along the access sequence, establishing a more direct dialogue between architecture and landscape.

Adjacent streets are reconsidered through reduced vehicle traffic, improved paving and the introduction of trees and lighting consistent with the open spaces inside the hotel grounds.

The landscape rehabilitation restores the historic structure of the gardens, preserving their most significant botanical and spatial elements while visually reconnecting the city with the slopes of Anaga.

The new parking structure is organized across split levels integrated into the topography, with planted roofs that minimize the impact of the new built volumes and extend the vegetated continuity of the site.

The intervention understands the hotel as an active part of the city, where infrastructure, garden and public space are brought together within a single urban experience.
