TENERIFE NORTH AIRPORT EXTENSION

Architectural Continuity Across Existing Infrastructure

The extension is conceived as a natural continuation of the existing terminal at Tenerife North Airport, increasing capacity at both ends without altering the unified reading of the building.

At the eastern end, baggage reclaim and waiting areas are expanded, with a new technical core introduced above to reinforce the internal functioning of the terminal.

At the western end, a new check-in hall is added, together with an office volume linked to airline operations and a service bay facing the landside façade.

The proposal follows the formal principles of the original building, introducing only a controlled variation in the façade treatment of the new office element.

Transparency, visual continuity between interior spaces and the controlled entry of natural light structure the intervention throughout.

The project relies on a warm material language and a clear strategy of integration, allowing the infrastructure to grow without losing spatial coherence.
