Tenerife South Airport

A memorable palm grove greets the passengers.

The idea behind the proposal for the tender consists in integrating the existing terminal of Tenerife South airport by expanding the dimensions of the central processor and adding a body of connections with the runway which resolves access to the walkways and views by means of a large horizontal piece of concrete creating a frame that outlines the impressive view of the Montaña Roja and the sea. Furthermore it sets out a second terminal building related to the planned North runway using the same compositional criteria. The car park is planned on the existing gradient between the two terminal buildings connected by lifts and pedestrian walkways that go around a big central square, treated as a palm grove that it is constituted in the central agora of public access to the two terminals, making the airport memorable.
